Qualification Description
If you are employed in the construction industry, this course will certify you to oversee others and allow you to launch your own business. It will assist you in getting ready to become a licensed builder.
The class will address the methods and fundamentals of construction and building. It will also offer crucial information regarding building codes in Victoria.
You can select between two pathways, depending on the electives you pursue:
Certificate IV in Construction and Building (Construction)
This stream is intended for individuals aspiring to work as builders in low-rise residential and commercial construction.
Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Site Supervision)
This stream is designed for individuals aspiring to be a site manager or project manager, and it will instruct you on how to oversee a construction site.
Consult with your training provider prior to choosing your electives. Be aware that the selection of electives might differ among providers.
This qualification enables you to engage in ‘low rise’ construction projects within small to medium-sized enterprises. Potential positions consist of:
- builder
- construction supervisor
- site manager
- site supervisor
- leading hand.
This program is offered as a pathway for apprenticeships in Australia.
This qualification is acknowledged across the country within the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
